HAPPINESS
Happiness
Happiness is the state of joy, peace, and tranquility. One
can succeed when connected with others with kindness and compassion. Happiness is
a sense of long-term well-being, peace of mind, and satisfaction with our
lives – it’s what we all look for all the time. When we have even a tiny
taste of it, we want it to continue forever. Happiness is a sense of
long-term well-being, peace of mind, and satisfaction with our lives –
it’s what we all look for all the time. When we have even a tiny taste of
it, we want it to continue forever.
Happiness is when
things in our lives are going well. Happiness is a compound of how satisfied
you are with your life. And how good you feel on a day-to-day basis. Our life
changes, and our mood sways, but our general happiness is more inherently
determined than anything else. Happiness in psychology is a state of emotional
well-being that a person experiences either in a narrow sense, when good things
happen in a specific moment, or more broadly, as a positive evaluation of one’s
life and accomplishments overall—that is, subjective well-being. Happiness can be distinguished both from
negative emotions (such as sadness, fear, and anger) and also from other
positive emotions (such as affection, excitement, and interest)
Pursuit,
happiness is central to the field of positivity. To increase happiness,
increase positivity, and help people live happier, more satisfying lives. The
pursuit of happiness is central to the field of ‘positive psychology. These
psychologists are interested in learning ways to increase positivity and help
people live happier, more satisfying lives. Why is being happy so important? A
growing body of research demonstrates that as we become happier, we become
better people. As we become happier, we become more compassionate, creative,
energetic, financially successful, and emotionally and physically healthy.
Happy people
still feel the whole range of human emotions—anger, frustration, boredom,
loneliness, and even sadness—from time to time. But even when faced with
discomfort, they have an underlying sense of optimism that things will get
better, that they can deal with what is happening, and that they can feel happy
again. The pursuit of happiness is central to the field of positive psychology.
Psychologists who study positive psychology are interested. Rather
than focusing on mental pathologies, the field strives to find ways to help
people, communities, and societies improve positive emotions and achieve
greater happiness.
A further requirement for attaining spiritual prosperity and
happiness is self-purification in thought, word, and deed. No one is perfect,
but one should strive and be ever watchful in maintaining one’s conduct and
attitude towards everybody and everything free of blemish. One should eradicate
all feelings of resentment, malice, jealousy, impatience, pride, revenge, envy,
injustice, scorn, and ill feelings towards others. On the other hand, one
should cultivate feelings of love, kindness, sympathy, forbearance, humility,
patience, charity, justice, courtesy, helpfulness, understanding, and other
pleasing virtues. It has been indeed stated:
Happiness is the feeling that washes over you when you
experience positive emotions, interactions, or events. The brain responds to
positive stimuli by releasing feel-good chemicals like dopamine, serotonin,
and endorphins, known as happy hormones. It is equated with pleasure,
gratitude, optimism, purpose, love, and doing good. So, all these help us reach
a general state of contentment or happiness. Happiness comes over when one knows
life is proper to him. Some people view when people are safe, successful, or
lucky, they feel happiness. Also, we can see that happiness is a powerful and
elusive emotion. Everyone tries to attain happiness, yet different people have
different perceptions. Happiness is typically an emotional state marked by satisfaction,
contentment, and satisfaction.

Research suggests
that happy people rank high on eudemonic life satisfaction and better than
average on their hedonic life gratification.
All of these can play an essential role in the overall
experience of happiness, although the relative value of each can be highly
subjective. Some activities may be both pleasurable and meaningful, while
others might skew more one way or the other.
For example,
volunteering for a cause you believe in might be more meaningful than
pleasurable. On the other hand, watching your favorite TV show might rank lower
in meaning and higher in pleasure.3
Some types of
happiness that may fall into categories include:
Religion's Impact on Happiness:
It is known to us, the happiness of everything- its pleasure;
it is serenity – indeed, the joy of everything accords with the need of its
nature. Therefore, the nature of everything that accords with it has been
created. So, the eye enchantments are in (seeing) pretty pictures, and hear
enchantments are in (hearing) sweat sounds. The heart’s delight is in the knowledge
of God. Happy and prosperous is the person who, through the Grace of God, is
the recipient of this experience, whether it be to a greater or lesser degree
There is, however, the experience of spiritual happiness and prosperity far
exceeds worldly satisfaction. It is this kind of happy prosperity that one
should seek to attain. While it comes only through the Grace of God, He has
provided ways and means by which one may receive this gift from Him. It is the
way of God that He helps those who help themselves, and the Holy Quran is complete
of instructions for the guidance of the spiritual wayfarer, which includes the
following points that should be given practical attention:
Happiness is directly related to one’s perception
of control, the ability to control one’s life. Depression has been
described as the “inability to construct a positive future.” Only when an
individual awakens to personal responsibility is happiness in Islam and in life
attainable, for regaining control of our life circumstances is only possible by
regaining control over ourselves through personal responsibility.
Happy
and prosperous is the person who, through the Grace of God, is the recipient of
this experience, whether to a greater or lesser degree.
Dealing with Anxiety:
No matter how low we feel, we must remember that we have been given a fantastic gift. It is the most important and beautiful gift one can have. Allah has given us faith and planted it in our hearts. He, the Giver of light, has kindled the light of faith and love for Him in our hearts. Let’s make this light bright and shining.
Our faith and belief in Allah are a fantastic source of
happiness and joy. Having and feeling Allah in our lives can erase the darkness
from our hearts. Turning to Him, we can find peace and gladness.
The gift of faith can bestow us with a great determination to
help and contribute to the Muslim community. Helping others and contributing to
our societies is also a good cure for fear or sadness. Gain joy and happiness
by spreading kindness.
The Best Listener:
Whenever
you feel stressed out, sad, depressed, or fearful for your future, you should
go to meet Allah Almighty. Meet Him in your prayers. Meet Him in your
supplications. Talk to Him, tell Him about your problems, and pour out your
heart.
Allah
is waiting for you to do so. He is the All-Hearing, the Best Listener we can
have. We can tell Him everything without that uncomfortable feeling we
sometimes have with people because we are worried about burdening them.
Allah Almighty is
there! Always! He is close, protecting the Friend of the believers, and He
brings us out of darkness into the light.
If we have learned anything about happiness in Islam, it is
that we cannot control external conditions and circumstances. We can control
almost nothing except one thing: Ourselves—literally ourselves. Yet, we are
often out of control and wreaking havoc on our lives mentally, emotionally,
physically, socially, and even financially.
Embracing
a new level of personal responsibility makes happiness in Islam and life possible.
Whenever
you feel stressed out, sad, depressed, or fearful for your future, you should
go to meet Allah. Meet Him in your prayers. Meet Him in your supplications.
Talk to Him, tell Him about your problems, Almighty and pour out your heart.
Allah Almighty is waiting for you to do so. He is the All-Hearing, the Best
Listener we can have. We can tell Him everything without that uncomfortable
feeling we sometimes have with people because we are worried about burdening
them.
Whoever does
good, whether male or female, and he is a believer, we will more certainly make
him lead a happy life, and We will more certainly reward him with the best he
used to do.
