Happiness is when things in our lives are going well. Happiness is a compound of how satisfied you are with your life. And how good you feel on a day-to-day basis. Our life changes, and our mood sways, but our general happiness is more inherently determined than anything else. Religion's Impact on Happiness:

It is known to us, the happiness of everything- its pleasure; it is serenity – indeed, the joy of everything accords with the need of its nature. Therefore, the nature of everything that accords with it has been created. So, the eye enchantments are in (seeing) pretty pictures, and hear enchantments are in (hearing) sweat sounds. The heart’s delight is in the knowledge of God. Happy and prosperous is the person who, through the Grace of God, is the recipient of this experience, whether it be to a greater or lesser degree

There is, however, the experience of spiritual happiness and prosperity far exceeds worldly satisfaction. It is this kind of happy prosperity that one should seek to attain. While it comes only through the Grace of God, He has provided ways and means by which one may receive this gift from Him. It is the way of God that He helps those who help themselves, and the Holy Quran is complete of instructions for the guidance of the spiritual wayfarer, which includes the following points that should be given practical attention:

Happiness is directly related to one’s perception of control, the ability to control one’s life. Depression has been described as the “inability to construct a positive future.” Only when an individual awakens to personal responsibility is happiness in Islam and in life attainable, for regaining control of our life circumstances is only possible by regaining control over ourselves through personal responsibility.

Happy and prosperous is the person who, through the Grace of God, is the recipient of this experience, whether to a greater or lesser degree.

Dealing with Anxiety:

No matter how low we feel, we must remember that we have been given a fantastic gift. It is the most important and beautiful gift one can have. Allah has given us faith and planted it in our hearts. He, the Giver of light, has kindled the light of faith and love for Him in our hearts. Let’s make this light bright and shining.

Our faith and belief in Allah are a fantastic source of happiness and joy. Having and feeling Allah in our lives can erase the darkness from our hearts. Turning to Him, we can find peace and gladness.

The gift of faith can bestow us with a great determination to help and contribute to the Muslim community. Helping others and contributing to our societies is also a good cure for fear or sadness. Gain joy and happiness by spreading kindness.

 The Best Listener:

Whenever you feel stressed out, sad, depressed, or fearful for your future, you should go to meet Allah Almighty. Meet Him in your prayers. Meet Him in your supplications. Talk to Him, tell Him about your problems, and pour out your heart.
Allah is waiting for you to do so. He is the All-Hearing, the Best Listener we can have. We can tell Him everything without that uncomfortable feeling we sometimes have with people because we are worried about burdening them.
Allah Almighty is there! Always! He is close, protecting the Friend of the believers, and He brings us out of darkness into the light.

We have to make the first small move. Try to wake up in the last third of the night and supplicate to Allah Almighty. Ask Him to help you. And ask him to remove your anxiety from your heart. Ask Him to show you the right way that leads to His pleasure and your success in this world. If you feel left alone with your worries, rush to meet your Lord and seek comfort in His company by standing or sitting on the prayer mat or remembering Him in your heart. Allah Almighty says in the Quran that only in the remembrance of Allah Almighty.
If we have learned anything about happiness in Islam, it is that we cannot control external conditions and circumstances. We can control almost nothing except one thing: Ourselves—literally ourselves. Yet, we are often out of control and wreaking havoc on our lives mentally, emotionally, physically, socially, and even financially.

Embracing a new level of personal responsibility makes happiness in Islam and life possible.

Whenever you feel stressed out, sad, depressed, or fearful for your future, you should go to meet Allah. Meet Him in your prayers. Meet Him in your supplications. Talk to Him, tell Him about your problems, Almighty and pour out your heart. Allah Almighty is waiting for you to do so. He is the All-Hearing, the Best Listener we can have.
